The folks who lived here before us planted many lilies in the back of our home. Hundreds of lilies. All of the lilies by the lake edge and path of our property are orange day lilies. And surrounding our deck are red and yellow day lilies. But among those along the deck there a just a couple of these peach lilies. Like a hidden gem, just so special with their soft different color...but also in their rarity. I love that.

Beautiful! What fun you must have had the first summer you lived in your house and got to experience all the lilies blooming! The family that lived in our house before us did not leave behind many perennials but they did plant the gorgeous violet hydrangea that I often post pictures of and whenever I take a moment to enjoy its loveliness I think of them and offer a little prayer that they are well. Kind of special how these little gifts of nature keep us human beings connected too.
