Day 14- Advent Calendar

Hello my Friends!  Again, busy days around here so I missed yesterday and getting to this late tonight. But thought I would still share what Advent Calendar means to me.

1) It's the countdown that starts through the wreath and the candles that are lit each weekend at mass.

2) It's a devotional I follow, that our church gives us, that helps me reflect on the real reason for season.

3) It's a fun little "cabin" decoration that we have in our home that Annie especially loves!

A door is opened. Either it has a little treat or it has a slip.

This is what the slip looks like. It gets brought to me and I get the kiddos a prize. The teenager doesn't get too excited anymore. But I still include him in some kind of goodie. Think little nerf gun, or socks with his fave hockey team logo on it. Annie gets things like:

A cute coin purse in her favorite mint green color.

Or a fun new book to read together!   The advent calendar is such a fun little twinkle in our days on the countdown to Christmas.

  1. I have always been partial to the manger ones myself, but have not had one in quite a few years since the last one wore out. Such cute little prizes you do.

  2. So adorable!! Just love this time of year. :-) Great link up to participate in! Enjoy the weekend.
